In an effort to coordinate and leverage key mental health initiatives and ultimately, improve mental health
care in Placer County for all people, the Campaign for Community
Wellness was created in the Fall of 2006.
Led by a Steering
Committee of over 50 community members, advocates, providers,
consumers and family members, the Campaign for Community Wellness
is working to coordinate and implement the Mental Health Services
Act (MHSA) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration
(SAMHSA) programs in Placer County.
Our hope is that by coordinating where we can, we
end up with better services for more people.
Innovation, collaboration, evidence based
practices, culturally competent and consumer-guided services are
our approaches
The result?
We
hope, that through the Campaign efforts and outreach, people in
Placer County struggling with mental health issues feel less stigmatized,
live independent, fulfilling lives and feel supported in their recovery
efforts----no matter where they are on that path.
