A Placer County advisory board will take public input May 21 on a progress report dealing with the funding of new programs to assist the mentally ill.

The meeting will begin at 6:15 p.m. at the Board of Supervisors' chambers, 175 Fulweiler Ave., Auburn.

The progress report addresses funding received through the Proposition 63 Mental Health Services Act, which helped Placer implement its Campaign for Community Wellness, county spokeswoman Anita Yoder said.

She said seven programs have been implemented over the past 11 months and that they range from mobile outreach and intervention for older adults to the provision of mental health services for Latinos in North Lake Tahoe to services for youths leaving the Children's System of Care.

In addition to the public hearing, citizens can submit written comments about the progress report on or before May 21.

Written comments should be sent to Maureen Bauman, Placer County Adult Systems of Care, 11533 Fulweiler Ave., Auburn, CA 95603.

The MHSA implementation report can be read online in English or Spanish. It is available at www.placer.ca.gov/hhs/adult/ MHSA.aspx. Copies of the report also are available at public libraries in Placer County.
